The Tory Government is threatening to take £600 million from Birmingham’s roads budget over the next 12 years. Sign our petition and call on the Government to keep their promise and stop our roads falling
We are calling for the Balsall Heath train station to be reopened as part of the Camp Hill line development to help us get to Birmingham in just four minutes! The planned reopening of
People in Birmingham want a public transport system that is affordable and reliable. Instead we are being let down by a Mayor who unveils fancy-looking transport plans on paper, while in reality we face disruption
We have worked with partners to deliver much needed family homes right across the city. Over the past two years, despite the pandemic, Labour has delivered over 22,000 new homes in Birmingham, beating the target of 19,800.
We pledge to build a further 65,000 homes and upgrade our council homes to make them warmer and greener.
We are taking action to clean up our streets and cracking down on the criminals who dump rubbish. We invested £7.2million on extra fly-tipping crews and Mobile Household Recycling Centres to allow residents to get rid of their bulky waste for free.
We’re also rolling out mobile CCTV cameras to catch criminal dumpers in the act.
Under Labour, Birmingham is a Living Wage City. We have worked with businesses and trade unions to increase pay for hard working people, and more people than ever are now on the real Living Wage.
We aim to get an extra 40,000 Birmingham workers onto the Living Wage over the next three years, helping everyone to get a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.
We have invested in public transport, walking and cycling to make it easier and safer to get around Birmingham. We’ve built cycle lanes and bus lanes and challenged the bus companies to make sure that fares are affordable.
Over the next five years, over £1 billion is being invested in public transport, walking and cycling which will reduce congestion in the city, helping more people to leave their cars at home.
Air pollution is a factor in almost 1,000 deaths in Birmingham each year. That’s why Labour has taken action, bringing in the Clean Air Zone which has already reduced emissions by 13%.
We will use the money from the Clean Air Zone on transport and air quality projects across the city, helping to share the benefits of the Zone with everyone.
